💼 About This Role

You'll design intuitive operator interfaces for Skydio's autonomous drones, working at the intersection of C++ autonomy engine, Android application layer, and cloud services. You'll own the full vertical from native libraries to Kotlin UI, shaping how operators interact with the most advanced drones. This role builds the command interface for a new category of intelligent machines.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design intuitive, high-performance operator interfaces for drone control and video streaming
• Architect features bridging C++ autonomy engine, Android layer, and cloud services
• Build and leverage AI-powered agentic workflows for engineering velocity
• Mentor engineers and raise standards on software quality and system design

📋 Requirements

• 3-5+ years software engineering with C++ and Android (Kotlin/Java)
• Deep experience with Android NDK and JNI in production apps
• Proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android ecosystem (Coroutines, Jetpack)
• Experience with low-latency network communication (UDP, WebRTC)

✨ Nice to Have

• Shipped mobile apps integrating with IoT devices or robots
• Experience with Bazel build system
• Familiarity with video codecs (H.264/H.265) or camera pipelines
