💼 About This Role

You'll build the user-facing experience of Matilda, a large language model from scratch in Australia. You'll ship streaming UX for real-time tokens, responses, and error handling. This role combines interaction design and frontend engineering in a tight loop with research and infra teams.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build core web interface for Matilda (chat, sessions, settings)
• Implement fast streaming UX for model outputs (tokens, cancellation, retries)
• Contribute to interaction design for latency, errors, and refusals
• Iterate on layout, typography, spacing, and interaction in code

📋 Requirements

• 1-2 years building production software
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend tooling
• Experience with real-time or streaming interfaces (SSE, WebSockets)
• Strong visual taste and attention to detail

• Experience with component architecture and state management
• Familiarity with API integration and auth flows
• Portfolio of products or interfaces with strong UX
