💼 About This Role

You'll design and build the next generation of Philo's video streaming pipeline, which delivers video at exabyte scale. Your work will directly impact every frame of video that reaches users, optimizing quality and reliability. You'll collaborate across teams to improve the TV viewing experience and drive video encoding innovations.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and deploy video streaming pipeline using in-house and open source software
• Collaborate with content partners to engineer systems for the best TV watching experience
• Build scalable data pipelines for ingesting video and analytics events
• Drive improvements to reliability, performance, latency, and security of the streaming platform

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Experience with Golang, Java, C++ or similar languages
• Deep experience with concurrent programming and high-throughput RESTful web services
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud computing environments

✨ Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cloud video transcoding services such as AWS Elemental or Azure Media Services
• Knowledge of FFmpeg
• Experience with video quality assessment tools like VMAF or SSIM
