Description

You will provide the highest level of care and welfare for a diverse collection of bird species, including exotics and domestics. Your role involves daily husbandry, habitat maintenance, monitoring animal health, and assisting with medical procedures. You'll also develop breeding, training, and enrichment plans to support conservation efforts.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in aviculture
• Expertise in avian animal care and conservation
• Strong animal handling skills for veterinary care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work weekends/holidays

Responsibilities

• Perform daily husbandry for a large and diverse collection of birds
• Maintain animal habitats, equipment, and tools
• Monitor and document animal behavior, health, and wellbeing
• Create habitats that promote successful breeding and optimal welfare
• Assist veterinary and research staff with medical exams and treatments
