💼 About This Role

You'll own the full lifecycle of custom electrical interface development at Figure, an AI robotics company building general-purpose humanoid robots. You'll drive connector programs from concept and CAD to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role blends mechanical and electrical engineering for novel interconnect solutions in a fast-paced startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own 3D CAD modeling and 2D detailed drawings for custom connectors and overmolds
• Design housings, contacts, strain reliefs, and sealing features with DFM focus
• Perform connector power calculations: contact resistance, derating, and temperature rise
• Develop and execute validation test plans including mating cycles and environmental exposure

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years in connector design, electromechanical packaging, or interconnect engineering
• Strong 3D CAD proficiency (CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent)
• Experience creating manufacturing-ready 2D drawings with proper GD&T
• Solid understanding of connector electrical fundamentals: current rating, contact resistance, derating

• Experience with variety of connector technologies and contact interface types
• Background in robotics, defense, medical devices, aerospace, or similar precision electromechanical systems
• Familiarity with injection molding, insert molding, and overmold design for production
