Description

You will develop and maintain models for electric motors, inverters, thermal management systems, gearboxes, and power distribution systems. You'll create integrated multi-physics models and use analysis to inform design decisions and optimize propulsion system performance. You'll also lead trade studies, design thermal systems, build prototypes, and plan test campaigns.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 4+ years experience in thermal design and simulation in aerospace or automotive
  • Strong fundamentals in heat transfer and flow physics
  • Experience with power electronics, electric motor, heat exchanger, and gearbox thermal design
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink and Python with object-oriented programming and Git

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain models for electric motors, inverters, thermal management systems, gearboxes, and power distribution systems
  • Create integrated multi-physics models coupling electrical, thermal, mechanical, and controls domains
  • Lead trade studies evaluating design alternatives for optimal thermal solutions
  • Design high performance thermal systems and build engineering prototypes
  • Plan and oversee thermal test campaigns including FAA certification testing
