Description
You will guide the regulatory aspects of designing and certifying next-generation AC/DC EV charging equipment, including vehicle export functions and energy management. Interpret safety standards, create test plans, lead certification testing, and resolve manufacturing compliance issues while mentoring cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Physics, EE, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years experience in electrical technical fields, preferably EV charging regulatory engineering
- Experience designing, testing, and certifying electrical products to international standards with third-party labs
- Thorough understanding of safety standards (e.g., UL2202, IEC 61851) and application to product design
- Ability to evaluate creepages, clearances, and insulation coordination; basic coding skills desirable
Responsibilities
- Advise product design and certification teams on AC/DC safety requirements from relevant standards
- Interpret safety standards and guide cross-functional design decisions
- Write and specify test plans for safety validation and certification
- Lead safety testing, prototype debugging, and on-site certification witness testing
- Resolve manufacturing issues related to regulatory certifications and production line auditing
