You'll lead the technical strategy for Waymo's Simulator, driving projects like scaling simulation capabilities for freeway and weather scenarios. Your work directly impacts the safety and reliability of autonomous driving. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define long-term simulator architecture and mentor engineers.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define technical strategy for issue response lifecycle in the Simulator
• Lead cross-functional initiatives for automated issue detection and mitigation
• Collaborate with Data Science, Systems Engineering, and operations teams
• Drive technical alignment on Simulator strategy and architecture

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years as a technical lead for large-scale software projects
• Expertise with C++ and/or Python

✨ Nice to Have

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science
• Experience building SRE or operations-focused systems
• Experience with large-scale data processing or robotics
• Knowledge of Simulator and SimEval ecosystem
