💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design and development of custom motor controllers and power electronics for advanced legged-on-wheels robots. Your work will directly enable more compact and agile robots without compromising torque or reliability. This is a rare opportunity to own the hardware stack of one of the world's most advanced robotic platforms.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead design and development of custom BLDC drivers for compact robotic joints.
• Own circuit design and PCB layout for digital and power electronics.
• Build and test prototypes to evaluate functionality and scalability.
• Implement and tune motor control algorithms like FOC and cogging compensation.

📋 Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or Robotics.
• 5+ years experience in hardware R&D with focus on motor drives or power electronics.
• Proficiency in Altium or KiCad for high power density design.
• Strong understanding of BLDC/PMSM motor dynamics and embedded C/C++ on STM32.

✨ Nice to Have

• Familiarity with GaN or SiC semiconductors.
• Experience with DFM/DFT for mass production in robotics, automotive, or aerospace.
• Experience with safety-critical hardware design (ISO 26262 or IEC 61508).
