💼 About This Role

You'll build and maintain back-end services for Matilda, a large language model trained from scratch in Australia. You'll focus on APIs, infrastructure, and reliability to turn the model into a reliable public capability. This role puts you inside the production system that deploys and serves a model trained at scale, working directly on system design and reliability.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build and maintain model inference and user request services.
• Design systems for request management, sessions, and streaming.
• Implement reliability mechanisms like rate limiting and retries.
• Set up authentication, access controls, logging, and telemetry.

📋 Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience building production software.
• Experience building back-end services in a modern language like Python.
• Ability to design reliable systems that remain stable under load.
• Comfortable debugging real systems and reading logs and metrics.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with API design and service interfaces.
• Familiarity with infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of AI/ML model serving concepts.
