💼 About This Role

You'll join Quizlet's Applied AI team to design and deploy AI-powered learning tools at scale. You'll shape personalization, ranking, or generative AI systems that directly impact learner outcomes and business metrics. This role offers hands-on work with LLMs and production ML at a $1B+ edtech platform.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Contribute to technical roadmap for applied AI across personalization and GenAI
• Build end-to-end ML systems: candidate sourcing, retrieval, ranking, value modeling
• Implement LLM features: RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, prompt optimization, eval
• Support evaluation infrastructure and online A/B experiments
• Ship reliable ML systems with monitoring, drift detection, and CI/CD

📋 Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience in applied ML/AI
• BS/MS in CS, ML, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience building ranking/personalization or search systems (retrieval, two-tower)
• Hands-on experience with LLM/GenAI systems: fine-tuning, prompt engineering, productionization

✨ Nice to Have

• EdTech or consumer mobile experience
• Publications/open-source in RecSys/LLMs (e.g., RecSys, KDD, NeurIPS)
• Experience with modern MLOps stack (feature stores, orchestration, online inference)
