💼 About This Role

You'll join OpenAI's product counsel team to handle legal initiatives for consumer hardware products, collaborating with customer support, operations, product safety, and engineering teams. You'll drive product safety, regulatory, privacy, and consumer protection strategies for AI-embedded devices. This role offers a unique opportunity at the intersection of law and cutting-edge AI hardware.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Advise on product safety, customer support, and environmental compliance for hardware.
• Anticipate and mitigate legal risks including privacy, consumer protection, and regulatory issues.
• Develop scalable legal strategies and processes for hardware product lifecycle.
• Expertly advise on AI embedded consumer device legal policy positions.

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years of legal experience with a mix of in-house and law firm roles.
• JD and license to practice in California.
• Experience with technology-focused legal work including consumer products.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and practical risk-balancing judgment.
