💼 About This Role

You'll join a new Applied LLM team building foundational infrastructure for generative AI across Upstart. Your core impact will be designing and shipping user-facing ML features that harness large language models. This role offers the chance to set technical direction for applied ML systems and evangelize best practices across the organization.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and build user-facing ML features with LLMs
• Architect scalable services and APIs for model outcomes
• Collaborate with product, design, and ML research teams
• Establish best practices for prompt design and evaluation

📋 Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years working on ML-driven products
• Strong Python development with FastAPI or Flask
• Experience integrating LLMs into production systems

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Familiarity with RAG and vector search
• Full-stack development with React
