Description

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer II at Rocket Lab's Optical Systems division in Tucson, AZ, you will develop flight software for spacecraft payloads supporting the U.S. Space Development Agency's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. You will be responsible for payload software development, external interfaces, and operating system deployments on size/weight/power-constrained computing hardware for space sensor payloads.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent with 8-12 years experience
• Experience in low-level C programming
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance

Responsibilities

• Support development of payload software, external interfaces, and operating system deployments
• Deploy novel systems on size/weight/power-constrained computing hardware for space sensor payloads
• Participate in all aspects of software design from requirements to implementation, testing, and deployment
• Leverage Linux fundamentals, fault tolerant design, device interface implementation, and RTOS
