Description

You will ensure the health, safety, and optimal performance of Rocket Lab's growing satellite fleet, supporting diverse missions from LEO constellations to interplanetary exploration. Your expertise will be critical during commissioning, orbit raising, routine operations, and re-entry phases, while working closely with spacecraft design, AIT, flight software, and ground software teams to improve capabilities over time.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical engineering)
• 2+ years of direct experience in space mission design, satellite subsystems, ground systems, spacecraft command control, or spacecraft operations
• Understanding of key spacecraft subsystems including ADCS, EPS, communications, C&DH, and thermal control
• Experience with spacecraft simulation tools (flatsat, HITL) and integrated testing (TVAC, propulsion stack, DITL)
• Active Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Leverage automation for spacecraft operations, focusing on software-driven solutions
• Design, develop and test ground software for long term space operations
• Design, develop and test flight software sequences and FDIR/telemetry configuration
• Maintain continuous integration and testing of operational code
• Develop test methods, data analysis, interface specifications, and CONOPS
