Description

As a member of the Anthropic Institute, you will research how Anthropic tackles critical challenges in AI impact—on jobs, society, security, and technology—by synthesizing internal insights and producing rigorous analysis for both internal leadership and the public. You will use Claude extensively to surface insights and conduct your own research, helping to shape understanding and policy around advanced AI systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in technical policy research, think tank work, or applied research in AI, labor economics, national security, or emerging tech governance.
• Track record of publishing policy memos, research reports, white papers, or public-facing analysis.
• Comfort operating at intersection of technical and policy audiences, able to translate ML findings for non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize across disciplines like economics, political science, technology, or organizational behavior.
• Deep experience using Claude as a tool for research and organizational knowledge-gathering.

Responsibilities

• Research how Anthropic's teams address the Institute's challenges and synthesize findings across the organization.
• Partner with teams to help surface their insights to the world, acting as connective tissue between groups.
• Produce written analysis and memos for internal leadership and public audiences on Anthropic's approach to AI challenges.
• Partner with relevant teams to develop and publish public outputs, including creative demonstrations.
• Conduct own research, utilizing AI systems and colleagues to sharpen thinking.
