Director, Contracts Counsel

Description

You will manage all aspects of contract operations, negotiation, review, and execution while advising the business on legal matters related to contracts. You'll form close partnerships within our legal team and with internal clients to provide service-oriented support that helps get cutting-edge cell and gene therapies to patients.

Requirements

  • JD from accredited law school and Massachusetts bar license (or eligibility as Registered In-House Counsel).
  • 4+ years attorney experience drafting and negotiating contracts in biotech/pharma or law firm.
  • Proven ability to analyze legal terms and assess risks in complex business arrangements.
  • Strong verbal and analytical skills with track record of risk-appropriate decisions.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple parallel contract negotiations simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts across research, development, G&A, including sponsored research, manufacturing, confidentiality, clinical trial agreements, etc.
  • Coordinate contract management via CLM software and develop contract policies, templates, and standard language.
  • Advise internal business owners on contracting issues, providing practical guidance and communicating risks.
  • Partner with IT and Legal to maintain CLM and train end-users.
  • Provide internal training on legal concepts, privacy matters, and contract policies.
