💼 About This Role

You'll join the Navigation Traffic team, building reliable web services that power Mapbox's navigation initiatives across consumer, automotive, and logistics. Your work spans distributed systems on AWS, geospatial localization, traffic telemetry, and mapping. You'll balance rapid development of new navigation solutions with service reliability at scale.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Collaborate with your team to scope and execute well-defined tasks
• Design systems that keep pace with rapid customer base growth
• Promote operational excellence through testing, monitoring, and on-call support
• Reduce technical debt and optimize application performance

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years building scalable high-volume low-latency backend services
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and AWS (CDK/ECS/Step Functions/Lambda/S3)
• Ability to perform independent development tasks based on designs

• Experience with the navigation domain
