Description

As a Senior Structural Engineer - Simulation, you will lead the development of internal Julia-based reduced order structural models and automation pipelines. Your work will directly impact the design of ocean energy devices, bridging structural mechanics and high-performance computing to evaluate millions of design possibilities.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent
• 3+ years experience in structural analysis and software/tooling development
• Proven experience writing clean, maintainable code in Julia and Python
• Deep fundamental understanding of large-scale steel structures
• Experience with Git, Docker, and cloud computing (GCP/AWS/Azure)

Responsibilities

• Maintain and advance reduced-order beam element analysis tool in Julia
• Build automation pipelines from reduced-order models to high-fidelity FEA shell element models
• Collaborate with Marine Ops, Manufacturing, and ME teams to define and analyze critical load environments
• Own mass estimation process for candidate devices
• Verify automated results using hand calculations and perform FEA in Nastran
