Description
You will support the design and licensing of nuclear fuel cycle facilities by assessing environmental impacts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing strategies to minimize environmental footprint. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into facility design and licensing activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of NRC, EPA, NEPA, and other environmental regulations.
- Experience with environmental modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for regulatory documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental assessments and prepare EIS/ER in compliance with NRC and NEPA requirements.
- Integrate environmental considerations into facility design with engineering teams.
- Develop strategies to minimize impacts on air, water, soil, and waste.
- Prepare and submit permit applications for federal, state, and local approvals.
- Provide technical expertise during inspections, audits, and public hearings.
