Description
You will lead Airbnb's public policy and campaign strategy in Iberia, focusing on Spain and Portugal, engaging with governments and stakeholders to advocate for fair home-sharing rules. Your work will involve defining policy goals, building partnerships, and advising internal teams to support the host community.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of direct experience with complex political or regulatory issues in a relevant business, non-governmental organization, or political/governmental/regulatory context
- Excellent knowledge of the political landscape and legislative processes across Iberia
- Legal education and professional experience required
- Proven ability to build and sustain networks of influence
- Track record of partnerships is an advantage
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- First-rate personal, political, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Self-starter able to thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Native Spanish and fluent English required; Portuguese and Catalan are an advantage
- Must be based in Madrid or Barcelona
Responsibilities
- Support the Iberia Campaign Lead in developing political strategies and priorities
- Identify partnership and alliance opportunities and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Establish and maintain relationships with political contacts across Iberia
- Act as Airbnb's representative in meetings with government and political stakeholders
- Advise Airbnb's teams on public policy matters to guide product and policy development
- Engage in research and analysis on developments affecting Airbnb's priorities
- Monitor legislation and regulatory matters
- Work with consultants to ensure energetic engagement on behalf of Airbnb
- Flag local policy issues with broader regional implications
- Cover regulatory obligations in the entire territory
