💼 About This Role

You'll join the Large Model Evaluation team, which is central to Waymo's AI ambition. You'll develop novel metrics and sampling techniques to measure driving trajectories from ML models. This role offers the chance to work on safety-critical AI systems for autonomous driving.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop novel metrics and sampling techniques for ML-generated driving trajectories.
• Employ creative simulation strategies to measure generative AI driving performance.
• Build data pipelines for signal discovery, labeling, feature extraction, and metric computation.
• Conduct data analysis to diagnose regressions in ML models.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in a heavily quantitative software engineering area
• Proficiency in Python or C++
• Experience building software pipelines for data processing or system evaluation
• Experience evaluating quality of ML models

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with simulation systems, robotics, or autonomous vehicles.
• Familiarity with JAX or Tensorflow deep learning frameworks.
