Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on the Starship Avionics team, you will design packaging solutions for electro-mechanical assemblies, performing thermal, structural, and tolerance analyses. You will own hardware delivery from inception through integration, working with production teams and ensuring designs meet weight and rate targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or other engineering discipline
• 5+ years of professional experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
• Proficient in hand calculations, FEA, and CAD
• Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes

Responsibilities

• Design packaging solutions for electro-mechanical assemblies
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analyses using hand calculations and FEA
• Participate in 3D modeling, production drawings, and design data maintenance
• Conduct failure analysis of components related to thermal, loads, vibration, and shock
• Lead design reviews with suppliers and customers
