Description

As a Lead Technical Artist at Cloud Chamber, you will shape the technical foundations of our artistic vision by leading a dedicated technical team to build robust art pipelines and performance-driven systems. Using Unreal Engine, you'll ensure that our ambitious art output is technically feasible, bringing the richly imagined world of BioShock to life.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in game development, with 3+ years in a leadership capacity on a AAA project.
  • Shipped 1+ AAA console or PC titles from concept to launch.
  • Shipped one AAA game using Unreal Engine 5.
  • Experience mentoring and managing a Technical Art team.
  • Experience supporting large AAA teams using custom Blueprints, python scripts, or other unique pipelines inside Unreal 5.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard 3D software (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender) including Python/scripting APIs.
  • Proficiency with Substance Painter/Designer and ZBrush.
  • Experience with procedural tools like PCG or Houdini.
  • Strong understanding of real-time pipelines, performance budgets, and optimization techniques.
  • Solid foundation in programming concepts.
  • Experience designing and maintaining automated pipelines for asset export, validation, and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Tech Art Director’s technical vision and standards for the Art department.
  • Establish and enforce technical budgets for all art content.
  • Design, build, and maintain the art production pipeline.
  • Take ownership of the most complex technical art challenges.
  • Serve as key communication link between Art, Engineering, and Design.
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and problem solve.
  • Proactively identify and resolve systemic performance bottlenecks.
  • Mentor and manage the Technical Art team.
