Description

You will facilitate in-person sessions, update lesson plans, and curate self-work and deliverables for Year 1 students at African Leadership University. You'll also manage the Canvas learning management system and coordinate SDL facilitators and interns to deliver a transformative learning experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any subject area
  • Two years experience in an educational institution
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
  • Strong interest in at least one of the 14 grand challenges and great opportunities
  • Agility and adaptability to fast-paced working environment
  • Receptive to challenge and working beyond comfort zone
  • Passion for education, modern learning theory and curriculum development
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person student programs and support redesign with feedback and approved changes
  • Create engaging learning activities and self-directed learning skills-focused content
  • Work with Foundational Learning coaches to identify student learning needs
  • Work with Specialisations Coaches to identify gaps in self-directed learning skills
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, training, administration, and schedules for SDL facilitators and interns
  • Support implementation and adoption of Canvas LMS
  • Conduct regular student-staff consultative group meetings to capture feedback and improve program quality
  • Implement modifications to learning materials, assessments, and other components to meet quality assurance requirements
  • Develop analytical reports and identify areas for improvement for the SDL Lab
  • Review LMS analytics to identify students requiring intervention from LEAP and Writing Centre
  • Hold office hours for targeted coaching and feedback
  • Identify relevant databases and datasets to support self-directed learning and entrepreneurial leadership
  • Perform any other reasonable duties allocated by line manager
