💼 About This Role

You'll lead the PCB Design Team for Vast's space station projects, overseeing high-speed, multi-layer board designs. Your work will directly enable the development of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This role offers the chance to shape team processes and mentor engineers in a mission-driven aerospace startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead and manage the PCB Design Team to deliver high-quality designs on time.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate system requirements into PCB layouts.
• Oversee design and layout of custom PCBs adhering to IPC standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure DFM guidelines are met.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field plus 5+ years PCB design experience (or 8+ years without degree).
• Extensive experience with Altium Designer CAD tool and PCB library management.
• Proven track record designing high-speed, impedance-controlled stack-ups and multi-layer boards.
• In-depth knowledge of fine pitch BGA routing including blind/buried vias and signal integrity.

• 1+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with IPC 2221A, IPC 6012 Class 3, IPC 7351 standards.
• Experience with high-density digital designs (14+ layers), power electronics, flex circuits, RF.
