💼 About This Role

You'll drive Observe by Snowflake's open-source strategy within the OpenTelemetry ecosystem, building next-generation telemetry collection for LLM/AI and Browser RUM. You'll pioneer new instrumentation capabilities and collaborate with the OTel community to shape industry standards.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Pioneer new instrumentation in OTel for LLM/AI and Browser RUM
• Design and implement OTel Collector components and SDK libraries
• Contribute code, RFCs, and reviews to the OTel community
• Architect and own the Observe Agent OTel Collector distribution

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years software engineering with OpenTelemetry ecosystem experience
• Strong Go programming skills and familiarity with an SDK language
• Deep understanding of OTel architecture (Collector pipeline, SDK, context propagation)
• Experience contributing to open-source projects with multi-vendor governance

✨ Nice to Have

• Approver or maintainer status in an OTel SIG
• LLM/AI observability instrumentation experience
• Browser RUM or front-end performance instrumentation
