Description

You will build AI-driven tooling and infrastructure to prevent bugs and empower thousands of engineers to ship with confidence at Airbnb. You'll work at the intersection of Mobile Infrastructure, Developer Experience, and Applied AI, evolving the Quality Platform that ensures a seamless experience for millions of hosts and guests.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience (or 2+ with PhD) in fast-paced tech environment.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Solid understanding of modern Android architecture and Gradle build lifecycle.
• Experience building or maintaining test automation frameworks (e.g., Espresso, Compose Test) at scale.
• Familiarity with CI/CD orchestration and passion for improving developer experience.
• Strong interest or hands-on experience with AI/LLMs for engineering productivity or quality.
• Ability to navigate complex ambiguous codebases and implement best-in-class solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate technical discussions across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-Native Tooling: Implement AI-driven agents to optimize CI/CD pipelines and provide intelligent feedback to developers.
• Enhance Developer Velocity: Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks in the development lifecycle.
• Advocate for Quality by Design: Guide product teams on architectural decisions for modularity and testability.
• Ship High-Scale Infrastructure: Own development and maintenance of frameworks used by hundreds of engineers.
• Hands-on Development: Write high-quality Kotlin code for testing frameworks and AI-powered developer tools.
• Technical Ownership: Ensure operational excellence and high availability of the Automated Quality Platform.
• Design Review: Participate in design reviews providing expert guidance on modularity and testability.
• Applied AI: Implement LLM-based solutions for smart test orchestration and autonomous test discovery.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product and Mobile Infrastructure teams.
• Mentorship: Review code and provide technical guidance to peers.
