💼 About This Role

You'll drive technical strategy and deliver large, cross-functional projects for Grafana Cloud's telemetry databases. You'll own architecture, reliability, and performance for systems that handle metrics, logs, traces, and profiles at scale. This role offers the chance to work on open-source observability tools used by NASA and Fortune 500 companies.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Drive technical strategy and roadmap for the Adaptive Telemetry group.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional projects.
• Own architecture, reliability, performance, and cost for critical systems.
• Define SLOs/SLIs and lead incident response and post-mortems.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers.

📋 Requirements

• Proven delivery of large distributed systems across multiple teams.
• Strong systems-design instincts regarding latency, consistency, and scaling.
• Hands-on cloud experience with microservices, Kubernetes, and IaC.
• Excellent coding skills in Go, Python, C/C++, Rust, or similar.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with telemetry databases (Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope).
• Experience defining SLOs/SLIs and capacity planning.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tools.
