Description

You will design and build automated monitoring solutions using SQL, BigQuery, and Looker to continuously monitor risks and controls. You'll also explore advanced techniques like AI to enhance testing and efficiency, helping Monzo scale safely and smartly.

Requirements

• Experience in regulated financial services, professional services, or high-growth tech with focus on control assurance and data-driven risk management
• Highly skilled in SQL (Looker and BigQuery experience a plus)
• Proven ability to design and build data analytics solutions for control testing and continuous monitoring
• Analytical thinker who simplifies complexity and communicates insights to senior management
• Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments; immediately available or notice period ≤1 month

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated queries, scripts, and dashboards for Continuous Control Monitoring (CCM) using SQL, BigQuery, and Looker
• Create reusable code and automation frameworks to embed analytics into control testing, with opportunities to explore AI
• Lead data analytics for ad-hoc deep-dive reviews of specific risks or control themes
• Ensure control gaps identified through analytics are agreed and recorded with stakeholders
• Collaborate across risk, audit, and business teams to strengthen accountability and proactive assurance
