Description

You will design and build scalable backend systems for payment processing, pricing, and promotions at CookUnity's eCommerce marketplace. Your work will directly impact the reliability of millions of transactions and help scale the platform to serve more customers.

Requirements

• 5+ years backend development with Kotlin, Java, and SQL databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
• Strong knowledge of payment processing systems and third-party providers (Stripe, PayPal)
• Experience with cloud-based architectures, distributed systems, and microservices
• Strong database design and query optimization skills
• Advanced English communication skills and AI-first mindset

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for payment processing, pricing, refunds, and promotions
• Optimize payment success rates by improving retry mechanisms, fraud detection, and error handling
• Develop features to support promotions, subscriptions, and order finalization workflows
• Work on multi-currency support and international payment processing
• Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and technical decision-making
