💼 About This Role

You'll lead the sign-off of sensing and perception systems for Waymo's autonomous vehicles, ensuring safety and performance. You'll drive consensus on requirements across hardware, software, product, and safety teams. 🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead sign-off of sensing and perception systems for deployment
• Propose requirements using sensing and system engineering principles
• Evaluate system performance and coordinate with test engineering
• Perform system-level trade studies and evaluate sensor architectures

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field
• At least 5 years of applicable experience or advanced degree
• Experience with system engineering fundamentals (requirements, design, V&V)
• Experience analyzing data using Python or similar (Matlab, SQL, R, C++)

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with autonomous vehicles and/or safety-critical systems
• Experience with different sensing modalities, especially radar
• Experience with machine learning / computer vision / AI systems
