Description

You will own the full development lifecycle of primary and secondary aircraft structures for Group 5 high-speed air vehicles, from conceptual design through prototype manufacturing. Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to solve complex engineering problems, using first principles and FEA to deliver high-performance, scalable mechanical systems.

Requirements

• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace or related industry
• Strong technical knowledge in engineering principles, mechanics of composite materials, design, analysis, testing, and fabrication
• Deep understanding of load paths, design practices, and hand calculations for robust structurally efficient assemblies
• Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD Secret Clearance or higher

Responsibilities

• Utilize first principle methods and design tools to develop new aircraft products
• Own development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies from preliminary design through prototype manufacturing
• Perform complex modeling and finite element analysis at detailed component, major assembly, and aircraft level
• Apply design for manufacturing concepts to create cost-effective, easily manufacturable solutions
• Conduct trade studies to determine optimal solution for weight, performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule
