Description

You will design and build distributed systems that power Braze's massive-scale background processing platform, owning Sidekiq across Kubernetes clusters worldwide. You'll collaborate with application teams to improve reliability, performance, and developer experience while managing incidents and contributing to system evolution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of distributed systems development or platform/infrastructure experience
• Experience with Sidekiq and background job processing
• Strong Ruby and Rails experience; Go experience helpful
• Experience with large-scale API-driven systems and observability
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate across global remote teams

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal software frameworks for large-scale distributed processing
• Evolve Sidekiq-based frameworks to reliably execute over a trillion jobs per day
• Own scaling behavior, reliability guarantees, and operational safety of job-processing systems
• Provide abstractions and tooling for application teams to use distributed processing safely
• Manage incidents via PagerDuty rotation and improve system reliability
