You'll lead backend architecture evolution at a Series A edtech startup serving higher education. You'll drive scalable systems and mentor the engineering team to deliver new product capabilities.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Drive alignment on engineering-driven priorities alongside product priorities
• Design and implement scalable backend architectures for enterprise applications
• Build and maintain clean, ergonomic APIs for complex business logic
• Optimize database schemas and queries for terabyte-scale data processing

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience at scale
• Previous experience as a technical lead
• Deep experience with Python, Django, and SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Strong proficiency in API design and event-based architectures

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with ElasticSearch or Redis
• Familiarity with Angular, React, or Remix
• Exposure to observability tools like Sentry, Grafana, Prometheus
