💼 About This Role
You'll own the product security and authorization lifecycle for Saronic's autonomous surface vessels, serving as the responsible security engineer for one or more vessel programs. You'll drive threat modeling across vessel subsystems and navigate DoD authorization frameworks including RMF and CSRMC. This is a hands-on security engineering role, not GRC or project management.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Own security posture for vessel programs from architecture through fielding.
- Drive threat modeling across embedded compute, communications, and sensor subsystems.
- Navigate DoD authorization lifecycles including RMF, ATO, and CSRMC.
- Prepare authorization artifacts and security documentation for program offices.
📋 Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on product security or systems security engineering for defense platforms.
- Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity authorization processes (RMF, ATO, CSRMC).
- Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-171.
- Experience with threat modeling for cyber-physical or embedded systems.
✨ Nice to Have
- Experience as security lead for a defense platform or program of record.
- Direct engagement with government Authorizing Officials or DOT&E.
- Familiarity with maritime frameworks like IMO MASS Code or IEC 62443.
