Description

You will perform venipunctures and finger sticks, prepare specimens for lab testing, and maintain specimen integrity. Your role is crucial in ensuring accurate diagnostic results and patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy Certificate if required by state
• Knowledge of hospital policies and JCAHO standards
• Ability to handle PHI and comply with HIPAA

Responsibilities

• Verify test requisitions and report discrepancies
• Obtain blood specimens via venipunctures and finger sticks
• Maintain specimen integrity and follow aseptic techniques
• Track collected specimens with initials, dates, and times
• Resolve unusual test orders and escalate issues
