Description

You will lead a team of ~30 welders and painters, managing performance, scheduling, and contractor relationships while collaborating with engineering to improve processes. You'll apply welding codes, enforce safety, and help advance SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or associate degree and 4+ years of FCAW/SMAW/GMAW experience, or 8+ years of metal fabrication experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Knowledge of welding codes AWS D1.1, D1.6, D1.2
• Ability to interpret drawings and weld symbols per AWS D17.1
• Fabrication of large-scale welded assemblies to tight tolerances

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage ~30 welders and painters including performance management
• Schedule work, assign tasks, and assess completed work
• Coordinate personnel and equipment for efficient utilization
• Manage contractors and relationships to maximize project value
• Work with management and engineering to streamline designs and processes
