Description

You will design, build, and optimize distributed data pipelines and real-time processing systems for Roku's content platform, shaping customer experiences through search, recommendations, ads, and voice. You'll remain hands-on while providing technical leadership and mentoring fellow engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership
• Proven expertise in building scalable distributed and streaming solutions
• Deep experience with content management systems or media platforms
• Expert-level proficiency in Java or Scala; Python is a strong plus
• Strong knowledge of streaming technologies (Kafka, Redpanda), databases, and data modeling

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and technical strategy for scalability and reliability
• Design and implement distributed systems, streaming solutions, and data pipelines
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Drive technical planning and prioritization aligned with business objectives
