Description

You will manage Roku's hardware royalty costs by interpreting and negotiating license agreements, translating terms into operational processes, and ensuring compliance and cost optimization. Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to drive strategy and reporting.

Requirements

• 5-6+ years experience in procurement, IP licensing, or royalty management in consumer electronics or tech.
• Proven experience negotiating license agreements with patent assertion entities or patent pools.
• Ability to connect legal terms to operational compliance and royalty reporting across product lines.
• Strong financial and analytical skills (Excel modeling, scenario analysis, forecasting).
• Effective cross-functional communicator with ability to influence Legal, Engineering, Product, and Finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support negotiations with patent assertion entities, licensing administrators, and patent pools.
• Translate executed agreements into operational instructions, product mappings, and compliance checklists.
• Establish reporting cadences and controls with Royalty Accounting; manage audits and filings.
• Model royalty exposure across products and partner with FP&A for forecasting and cost optimization.
• Monitor patent landscapes, assertion activity, and maintain a risk register with proactive strategies.
