Description

You will join a collaborative research team at Calico focused on Parkinson's Disease biology, testing mechanistic and therapeutic hypotheses through fit-for-purpose in vivo models. Lead programs from exploratory biology through early drug development, working closely with translational neuroscience, physiology, genomics, data science, and advanced imaging groups.

Requirements

• PhD in biology, neuroscience, or related discipline with 5+ years of post-doctoral or industry experience
• Deep knowledge of neuroanatomy, brain sectioning, and clearing methods
• Proficient in stereotactic surgery
• Track record of linking molecular to functional changes in neurodegeneration models
• Experience with viral and genetic tools and proficiency in R, Python, or equivalent data analysis platform

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret in vivo experiments involving stereotactic surgeries, viral delivery, and pharmacology
• Provide scientific leadership for projects with CROs, external partners, and internal collaborations
• Manage model creation, licensing, colony planning, and maintenance with Laboratory Animal Resources and vendors
