💼 About This Role

You'll support the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems for spacecraft at Xona, a navigational intelligence company. You'll own subsystem design authority and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring high-reliability electromechanical hardware from prototype to production. This hands-on role includes laboratory testing and integration for satellite flight systems.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own subsystem design authority for assigned hardware including requirements decomposition.
• Design and develop mechanical subsystems for spacecraft with focus on dynamic systems.
• Collaborate on integrated rotor/bearing/housing designs ensuring mechanical/thermal interfaces.
• Lead mechanical and thermal design of components including active components and housings.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience leading mechanical hardware design from concept to production.
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and FEA tools.
• Experience designing electric motor drives or precision mechanisms.

• Experience with precision robotics.
• Exposure to spacecraft systems or ADCS hardware.
• Understanding of control systems and control theory.
