💼 About This Role

You'll help improve application security across the FT's cloud-native technology estate, making secure engineering easier for product, platform and software engineering teams. You'll work closely with engineers to triage vulnerabilities, improve security playbooks and embed practical AppSec into normal delivery. This hands-on role combines developer-friendly security tooling, threat modelling and vulnerability management in a collaborative culture.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Improve developer-friendly security guardrails across GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines
• Support practical threat modelling for applications, services and new features
• Triage application vulnerabilities and improve security playbooks
• Write scripts and tools to automate security workflows

📋 Requirements

• Practical experience in application security
• Experience working with software engineers to explain and remediate security issues
• Familiarity with SAST and software composition analysis tools
• Ability to write scripts in Python to automate tasks

✨ Nice to Have

• Exposure to AWS security or cloud security
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Familiarity with container or Kubernetes security
