Description

As a Principal Optical Test & Automation Engineer, you will own the design and development of test infrastructure for optical payloads, including hardware-in-the-loop systems, automated testing and calibration, and robotic active alignment. You'll have a unique system engineering perspective to ensure payload performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Experience in optical test and automation infrastructure
• System engineering skills to understand optical payloads
• Ability to design and build test equipment
• Proficiency in automation and calibration processes
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing

Responsibilities

• Strategic rollout, design, commissioning, and maintenance of optical test and automation infrastructure
• Develop flight-like hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure for software and algorithm development
• Automate sub-system and end-of-line testing and calibration
• Robotic active alignment for high-volume payloads
• Identify anomalous hardware behavior and suggest offloading complexity to software
