Description

Design and build distributed systems that power Braze's massive-scale background processing platform. You'll collaborate with application teams to evolve the Sidekiq platform, improving reliability, performance, and developer experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years distributed systems development or platform/infrastructure experience
• Strong Ruby and Rails experience; Go experience helpful
• Experience with distributed systems, message queues, or background job processing with focus on Sidekiq
• Experience in application and systems observability
• Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and expectations

Responsibilities

• Develop Braze's embedded frameworks for large-scale distributed processing
• Design, build, and operate internal software frameworks for asynchronous and background processing at massive scale
• Evolve and extend frameworks built on Sidekiq to reliably execute over a trillion jobs per day globally
• Own scaling behavior, reliability guarantees, failure modes, and operational safety of systems
• Manage incidents via PagerDuty rotation and prevent future incidents through improvements
