Description

You will partner with multiple City departments to acquire property interests for public projects through negotiation and, when necessary, eminent domain. You'll manage condemnation cases from filing through trial, including research, discovery, and representing the City in hearings and court.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from accredited law school
• 5+ years legal experience with relevant trial experience
• License from Supreme Court of Texas to practice law
• Pass CJIS background check

Responsibilities

• Review condemnation files and prepare petitions
• Represent City in special commissioners' hearings and trials
• Conduct legal research and draft opinions on condemnation issues
• Handle discovery, depositions, oral arguments, and settlement negotiations
• Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal law
