DevSecOps Engineer

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

$85k-$105k / yearest.

Who is Shift? At Shift, we’re business specialists dedicated to helping Australian SMEs take control of their cashflow, streamline trade terms and choose the right financial products. We believe Australian businesses are the driving force behind our economy and are core to our communities. That’s why our business expertise, focus on relationships, and market-leading technology is at the core of everything we do. We’ve helped solve the credit and payment pain points for more than 30,000 businesses, providing over $6 billion in aggregate funding. Our unique approach to product innovation combined with our collaborative culture means you can build your career in a supportive environment. You’ll be joining a diverse team of over 300 people who are always looking to deliver better outcomes for Australian businesses. About the role: At Shift, DevSecOps isn't a ticket queue. You won't be handed a change request and told to execute it, you'll be one of the people deciding how our cloud infrastructure gets built, secured and kept running. Our engineers carry real decision-making power, not just delivery responsibility, and the problems you'll be solving are ours alone to solve, because our data and decisioning capability is what makes Shift Shift. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own complex infrastructure and security work end to end. What you'll do: Lead complex DevOps and security initiatives across Shift's cloud environments, from design through to delivery. Build, maintain and continuously improve our automated deployment pipelines using DevOps best practice. Drive security testing, vulnerability scanning and remediation across production, data and operational infrastructure. Set the standard for security best practice - policies, risk assessments, controls and processes and guide the wider infrastructure team in applying it. Keep a live watch on emerging security threats and industry trends, and get ahead of risk before it becomes an incident. Partner closely with our engineering teams to embed security into applications and tooling from the start. Identify infrastructure and security uplift work that's been queued for too long, and lead it end to end - we'd rather fix things properly once than patch them repeatedly. What you'll bring: 3-5+ years in a cloud infrastructure or security-focused technology role. Strong hands-on experience with Azure or AWS (IaaS and PaaS) - we run on Azure, but strong AWS experience that translates across is welcome. Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, PowerShell, Bash or C#). Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, with working knowledge of Helm. A solid grasp of security fundamentals (IAM, WAF, vulnerability management) backed by real implementation experience. Experience with CSPM/KSPM tooling, network security controls (NSGs, application gateways, firewalls, private links), and secrets management (Azure Key Vault). Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Enterprise, GitOps via Flux CD or Argo CD, Octopus Deploy). Azure Entra ID experience is preferred; exposure to Azure SQL or APM tooling like Dynatrace is a bonus. Comfort with ambiguity and a bias for figuring things out rather than waiting for a playbook - the tempo here is fast and the team is lean. Key benefits: Collaborative teams – a flat structure means everyone can learn from colleagues and senior leaders around the business. Be involved – come together with all of your colleagues every 100 days to share the product and technology roadmap and business strategy. Flexible working environment – we’re headquartered in North Sydney with state-based workplaces and offer a flexible work policy. Family support – industry leading 26 weeks paid parental leave. Purpose built spaces within our office – designed for collaboration, brainstorming, socialising, and focused work. Range of benefits supporting your physical, psychological and financial wellbeing. From a day off on your birthday to excellent end of trip facilities. #LI-Hybrid

Associate DevSecOps Engineer

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

$65k-$85k / yearest.

Who is Shift? At Shift, we’re business specialists dedicated to helping Australian SMEs take control of their cashflow, streamline trade terms and choose the right financial products. We believe Australian businesses are the driving force behind our economy and are core to our communities. You’ll be joining a diverse team of over 300 people who are always looking to deliver better outcomes for Australian businesses. About the role: This is a build-your-career-here role, not a stepping-stone. You'll learn cloud infrastructure and security the way Shift actually does it: hands-on, with real ownership, working alongside engineers who'll teach you things you won't pick up from a course. What you'll do: Support the design, build and integration of security solutions across Shift's applications and tooling. Help maintain and improve the secure infrastructure underneath Shift Online, Shift Trade, Shift Partner and TM Vault. Get hands-on with our automated deployment pipelines and DevOps best practice. Assist with security testing and vulnerability scanning. Build your radar for current security threats, vulnerabilities and industry trends. Be the first line of support for infrastructure requests: triaging, troubleshooting and escalating where it genuinely needs a senior engineer. Contribute to policies, risk assessments and security controls as you build your expertise. What you'll bring: 1-2 years' experience in a cloud infrastructure or security-focused role, or a relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated interest (projects, internships, personal builds). Exposure to at least one scripting or programming language (Python, PowerShell, Bash or C#). Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS (IaaS/PaaS) - we run on Azure, but AWS experience that translates across is welcome. Awareness of Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, and a genuine appetite to go deeper. A foundational understanding of security concepts (IAM, WAF, vulnerability management). Curiosity about CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Enterprise, GitOps or Octopus Deploy. The adaptability to pick things up fast, and the accountability to own your patch rather than wait to be told what's next. Sr Customer Engineer - ANZ (Presales & Post Sales)

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

The Team + The Role Pendo’s Customer Engineering team is the technical backbone of the pre- and post-sales customer motion. The team brings together work across Customer Success, Technical Account Management, and Solutions Engineering into one full-lifecycle technical owner. Customer Engineering helps customers connect technical execution to business outcomes and realize the value of their investment in Pendo. As a Senior Customer Engineer for the ANZ region, you will own accounts across acquisition, implementation, adoption, expansion, and escalation. You will lead technical strategy for complex deployments, resolve ambiguous customer challenges, and partner closely with account teams to drive retention, expansion, and customer value. Your impact will extend beyond your own accounts through playbooks, coaching, repeatable fixes, and workflow improvements that raise the capability of the broader Customer Engineering team. This role is based in our Sydney office. What this looks like day-to-day New customer acquisition and selling: Partner with Account Directors on pre-sales motions for new customer acquisition, product expansion, and growth across lines of business. You identify customer pain, craft and deliver tailored demos, and lead technical evaluations through requirements gathering, success criteria, installation guidance, and hands-on workshops. Quarterly business outcomes: Drive measurable improvement in customer health, retention, expansion, and technical resolution across strategic accounts. You contribute at least one reusable framework, playbook, or process that other Customer Engineers use and become a trusted advisor to Account Directors on account health and technical strategy. Adoption, expansion, and growth: Identify opportunities to expand adoption across underutilized features, untapped products, and new lines of business. When adoption stalls, you diagnose root causes, design a path forward, and connect technical work to measurable business outcomes. Complex implementations and value realization: Lead onboarding for strategic customers, including planning, implementation, integrations, and training. You build customer-specific implementation playbooks, guide complex deployments with executive visibility, and ensure customers realize value during onboarding and over time. Team capability building: Build playbooks, document repeatable fixes, coach peers, and improve how Customer Engineering work gets done across the team. You use AI tools to accelerate content creation, surface patterns across accounts, and share practical workflow findings with the broader team. Early account impact: Assess account health, risks, stakeholder relationships, and the highest-priority problems to solve within your portfolio. You establish trust with Account Directors and customer stakeholders, then independently lead complex customer interactions that move accounts forward. Technical escalation: Serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges raised by other Customer Engineers. You resolve ambiguous problems with multiple variables and tradeoffs, involving Product or Engineering only when truly needed. Who You Are Beyond the qualifications, we hire through a specific lens. These aren't buzzwords; they're the things we'll actually look for in how you talk about your work. You're a builder, not a maintainer. You're most energized when there isn't a clear path yet, and you get to define it. You don't wait for direction; you identify gaps, shape solutions, and drive them forward. At Pendo, great Senior Customer Engineers don't just follow instructions; they operate as strategic advisors, influencing decisions, guiding stakeholders, and elevating how we work. You're AI-curious - genuinely. You're not using AI tools occasionally. You're rewiring how you work around them. You're faster, sharper, and more prolific because of it, and you bring that energy to everything — how you approach your work, how you prep, how you communicate, how you think. We want someone who sees AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut. Must-haves Passion for working with customers and building strong and impactful customer relationships 5 to 8 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, Customer Engineering, implementation, professional services, or solutions architecture. Deep hands-on experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs, with the ability to architect and troubleshoot complex front-end implementations. Proven experience managing strategic Enterprise accounts with executive-level stakeholders, competing priorities, and complex technical or business requirements. Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems involving multiple variables, constraints, and tradeoffs. Experience connecting technical execution to business outcomes such as retention, expansion, ROI, and value realization. Hands-on use of AI tools for account research, content creation, or workflow automation, with demonstrated integration into day-to-day work rather than light experimentation. Experience mentoring or coaching more junior technical team members. Nice-to-haves Experience with Pendo, digital adoption platforms, product analytics, or in-app experience tooling in an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience with mobile app development, including Swift, Android, or React Native. Familiarity with data architecture, AI or machine learning concepts, or advanced analytics instrumentation. Track record of building reusable frameworks, playbooks, or processes that were adopted by a broader team. About Pendo Pendo was founded in 2013 by former product managers, who combined their heads and hearts to build something they wanted but never had as product managers: a simple way to understand and attack what truly drives product success. Our mission is to improve society's experience with software. Principal Engineer - Platform

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

$140k-$180k / yearest.

Find Your Connection to Endless Possibilities Are you a lead software engineer looking for the next step in your career? If the opportunity to work in a global industry leader with a diverse culture excites you, this may be the role for you. With Audinate, you’ll find your connection to the world of sound and vision. We lead the world in AV networking media to pioneer the way people see and hear. Our products seamlessly manage hundreds of audio and video channels with one network, making us the industry standard. You’ll find us in the largest companies and institutions like the Sydney Opera House, NFL Media Headquarters, Microsoft, and even a 900-year old cathedral featured in Harry Potter. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: Excellence, Courage, Integrity, Innovation, and Teamwork. If this resonates with you, this is the place for you. What you’ll experience with us No matter your role, you’ll feel part of our team and contribute to pioneering the future of AV so that everyone can be seen and heard. In addition to a competitive salary, annual bonus and equity incentive plan you’ll be part of our diverse, values-based culture. You’ll also enjoy a range of benefits such as flexible working (3 days per week in office), home office support, and volunteering leave. What you'll be working on Audinate is building a new generation of products for installed AV. A newly formed engineering group is behind it, the first products are in development, and there's a multi-year platform journey ahead: embedded devices, cloud services, and the web, all working as one system. That system won't exist in isolation. Installed AV is a world of devices, control systems, and platforms from many vendors. Our products need to control it, integrate with it, and open our own platform outward in return. Inside Audinate it's the same story, where the new products build on cloud technology we already run, and it all has to converge into one coherent architecture. We're looking for an engineer with the technical depth for the platform and the product sense to turn a roadmap into the right engineering calls. You'll drive architecture across devices, cloud, and web, partner closely with product managers and technical leads, and help sort out whatever's unclear or unowned along the way. You'll report to the leader of this engineering group. It spans several teams and more than 20 engineers. You will Partner with engineering and product leads on cross-cutting technical decisions: platform direction, build vs buy, architectural trade-offs Act as the engineering interface to product for your domain, translating product goals into buildable systems and surfacing the technical constraints that shape the roadmap Drive architecture across the platform: devices, cloud services, and the web Identify and reduce technical risk that no single team owns Raise the bar on how we build: test strategy, automation, development processes, and what it takes to keep a multi-team platform shippable Champion AI-assisted engineering: identify high-leverage workflows, prove them out, and spread them across teams What we're looking for Deep experience with connected systems: you've designed and shipped platforms where devices and cloud services work together reliably Strong distributed systems fundamentals: networking, protocol design, reliability, observability At home in the messiness of real-world integration: protocols, APIs, third-party systems Hands-on with AI-assisted development: you get real value from the tools because you've built the guardrails, workflows, or tooling to deal with their limits Strong hands-on coder, at home across languages and layers of the stack: today that's TypeScript/Node.js, GraphQL, MongoDB, Redis, AWS, and Kubernetes, but you reach for whatever the work needs, familiar or not Technical influence without authority: you've shaped architecture and engineering culture through credibility, not headcount You ask the questions that get to the real issue and leave conversations clearer than you found them Comfortable with ambiguity: you turn a vague mandate into a concrete plan Professional AV or audio networking background is a plus, not a requirement If you're a Platform Architect or Technical Lead looking for an opportunity to make a difference we may be on the same wavelength. Apply now and submit your CV and cover letter.

How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
