You'll design and build the control plane for a **fully managed Postgres service** at PlanetScale, enabling engineering teams to focus on their products. You'll **tune Postgres at scale** and build high availability, disaster recovery, and automation solutions for demanding production workloads.

You'll join the Neki team to **bring sharded PostgreSQL to the cloud** by designing and building the **control plane** that provisions, scales, and heals clusters. This role directly impacts customer database reliability at scale.

You'll **partner with Sales and Customer Engineering** to guide customers through database migrations onto the PlanetScale platform. Your core impact is designing migration strategies, executing proofs of value, and advocating for customer needs. You'll also create educational content and build automation tools to accelerate onboarding.

You'll design and build critical systems that power PlanetScale's database platform, serving **millions of queries per second** for some of the world's largest applications. You will collaborate with a team of expert engineers to solve **complex distributed systems challenges**. You'll also work directly with customers to understand their needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.

You'll design and implement security controls for **PlanetScale's cloud-native database platform**, protecting millions of queries per second. You'll collaborate with engineering teams on **security reviews and threat modeling** to embed security across distributed systems. A special focus is on **proactive red teaming** to continuously test and improve defenses.

You'll join PlanetScale's Insights team to build our customer-facing database observability product. You'll instrument Vitess, MySQL, and PostgreSQL to emit **performance data** and create intuitive dashboards that surface actionable insights. You'll own features end-to-end, from design through production deployment.

You'll design and build critical systems powering PlanetScale's database platform, serving **millions of queries per second** for world-class apps. You'll collaborate with expert engineers on **distributed systems challenges** and work directly with customers. You'll contribute upstream to the **PostgreSQL core engine** and maintain extensions that power our Postgres offering. You'll join the **Surfaces team** to build and maintain the user-facing UI, CLI, and APIs for **PlanetScale's database platform**. Your work directly impacts how developers create and manage critical Vitess and Postgres databases. You'll collaborate with design to solve database developer experience challenges.
