Description
You will become an Apache Airflow expert, providing expertise directly to customers to help them make the best possible use of our managed Airflow service. You'll solve challenging Airflow problems, from optimizing configuration to identifying bugs, while working remotely within a fully distributed team.
Requirements
- Four years of professional experience
- Proven proficiency in Python with minimum two years experience
- Experience with Kubernetes/Docker/Containers
- Experience working with distributed systems with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Work well with autonomy and independence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Learn and build expertise across Airflow, data engineering, Kubernetes, and cloud engineering
- Solve challenging Airflow problems for customers
- Spend up to 25% of time on side projects contributing to Astronomer's success
- Work directly with customers' data engineers, system admins, DevOps teams, and management
- Own the customer experience, working directly with customers to prioritize and solve issues
- Help maintain 24x7 coverage through a specified 6-hour pager period
- Participate in paid on-call rotation for weekend coverage
